League Rules f or the
2009 – 2010 Hockey Season
ARTICLES
ARTICLE I
Name
The name of the organization shall be the Community Hockey League, herein after referred to as the CHL, operated under the jurisdiction of the Greater London Hockey Association herein after referred to as the GLHA.
ARTICLE II
Purpose
To provide member associations of the CHL with the opportunities to accomplish their aims and objectives by:
- Promoting and facilitating safe and fun hockey within the member associations for every child that has a desire to participate.
- Planning appropriate schedules to meet the needs of the member associations.
- Promoting and publicizing minor hockey in the community.
- Encouraging the most efficient use of existing ice facilities.
- Ensuring the operation of viable house league programs throughout the membership.
ARTICLE III
Membership
Section 1
Membership in the CHL shall be open to minor hockey associations that hold current affiliations to the GLHA. The current members are:
- London Minor Hockey Association
- North London Sports Association
- Oakridge Aeros Hockey Association
- SSE London Hockey Association
- West London Minor Hockey Association
Section 2
Associate members may be added by a 3 / 4 majority of the Board of Directors of the CHL and the approval of the GLHA. An associate member may be any association not affiliated with the GLHA.
Section 3
The CHL shall be governed by a Board of Directors composed of two representatives of each member association in good standing; the representatives are to be appointed annually by the member associations. Additionally there will be a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Past Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, League Commissioner and Statistician. There may also be
the following: one representative of the Parks and Recreation department for the City of London, and one representative of the appointed referee’s association.
Section 4
- Each member association’s representatives will have full voting privileges in the CHL. Voting privileges shall also be extended to the Chairperson.
- Associate members will be granted voting privileges as determined by the Board of Directors of the CHL.
Section 5
The Board of Directors shall elect the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, League Commissioner, Secretary, Treasurer, and Statistician on an annual basis at the regularly scheduled May meeting. Nominees for these positions must come first from the Board of Directors. Should the board fail to put forth a nominee from within the board, then the board may nominate persons from outside the board. If a board member is elected, his or her home association may select another association representative to replace him or her. In the event that an association is not represented at a board meeting, an elected Board of Director who is a member of said association may represent that association’s interests at the Board meeting.
ARTICLE IV
Quorum of the Board of Directors of the CHL
The quorum for a meeting shall consist of at least 2 / 3 of the directors.
ARTICLE V
Duties of the Officers
Section 1
Chairperson
Shall preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors, shall act as Chairperson with the usual privileges of the office and shall attend all meetings of the GLHA.
- Shall handle all CHL complaints regarding:
i) Player or team misconduct
ii) Team Official’s misconduct
iii) Quality of officials
iv) Relationship with City of London Parks and Recreation Department and with team
parent groups
- Shall represent the CHL at meetings of the GLHA and other relevant association meetings as required.
Section 2
Vice Chairperson
- Shall carry the Chairperson vote when sitting as the Chairperson.
- Shall chair the meetings in the absence of the Chairperson.
- Shall attend meetings with the Chairperson or in his or her absence and assume other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Chairperson.
Section 3
Secretary
- Shall keep and record the minutes of all board meetings.
- Shall accept the applications for membership from the associations.
- Shall receive copies of approved team and affiliated player rosters from each association
- Shall attend to all correspondence of the Board as required.
Section 4
Treasurer
- Shall prepare budget and submit to The GLHA..
- Monitor GLHA Expenditures and reconcile with CHL budget.
- Shall keep an accurate record of all accounts and report to the board on a monthly basis.
- Shall track associations fines monthly and add to year end operating cost.
- Shall present a year end operation cost to GLHA and projected budget to the board annually at its May meeting.
Section 5
League Commissioner
- Shall arrange to have the game sheets picked up on a weekly basis.
- Shall review game sheets on a weekly basis.
- Shall maintain records of major penalties, misconduct penalties as per the Hockey Canada, Ontario Hockey Federation rules and Community Hockey League rules.
- Shall assess suspensions for major penalties and misconduct penalties as per the HC, OHF rules and CHL rules.
- Shall communicate suspensions to the appropriate member association’s officials.
- Shall investigate and make recommendations to the Board on any games subject to possible forfeiture or default as according to the playing rules of the CHL.
- Shall call and chair a hearing when required.
Section 6
Statistician
- Shall maintain league statistics.
- Shall oversee the online score submission form and any issues that may arise in regards to that form.
- Shall publish game results in a timely fashion respectively to when the game was played.
- Shall track late game score submissions and provide that information to the CHL League Treasurer for follow up on the fines.
Section 7
Association Representative
- Shall attend all meetings of the CHL. If a representative cannot attend, he must arrange for an alternative representative from his or her home association. Failure for an association to have representation at a scheduled meeting will result in:
1st occurrence, association to be fined $100.00 and be reported to the GLHA
2nd occurrence, association to be fined $300.00 and be reported to the GLHA
3rd occurrence, lose all voting privileges until the GLHA decide what further sanctions will be imposed on the association
Fines will be assessed to appropriate membership association.
- Shall report all game changes as requested by their associations by:
1) Completing CHL Game Change forms as required in rule 12.
2) Informing Statistician prior to the originally scheduled start.
3) Inform Referee’s association to both cancel and reschedule the referee’s.
4) Inform the Convenor(s) of affected associations within the allotted time as set out by
the CHL Playing Rules.
- Shall participate in al discussions, activities, and decisions of the CHL Board of Directors.
- Shall communicate CHL decisions to their home associations and shall provide information as requested by the CHL (e.g. Team rosters, A.P. list and game sheets).
- Shall participate in the creation of schedules for both the regular season and playoff’s.
Section 8
Disciplinary Committee
The disciplinary committee will consist of the League Chair, the League Commissioner and CHL representative from any of the non-involved associations.
ARTICLE VI
Finances
Section 1
The CHL shall be self-supporting based upon the fee assessments to the member associations as established from time to time by the Board of Directors. Each association shall pay the assessment to the GLHA based on amount of teams in league by October 15th
Section 2
The Board of Directors shall recommend changes to assessment for any variances to the CHL operating budget which may arise
Section 3
The Board of Directors shall approve an operating budget prepared by the Treasurer annually and submitted to the GLHA.
ARTICLE VII
Meetings
- The annual meeting of the CHL shall be held in June of each year at which time the representatives as appointed by their associations shall transact such business as is appropriate.
- The Board of Directors shall meet at least once during the months of September to June and at other times as determined by the Chairperson.
- The Board of Directors shall meet within two (2) weeks when three (3) members of the Board of Directors request a meeting in writing.
ARTICLE VIII
Rules and Amendments
Section 1
Amendments to the CHL Playing Rules may be made at any meeting of the CHL Board of Directors.
Section 2
Amendments made at any meeting of the Board of Directors require a two-thirds (2 / 3) majority of all eligible voting members of the Board of Directors not just the Directors who are present.
Section 3
The operations committee of the GLHA must ratify all amendments.
CHL LEAGUE PLAYING RULES
Rule 1: Equal Ice Time
The CHL will operate on the basis of equal ice time for all players during the game played. In Atom through Bantam divisions it is acceptable to play fewer defense pairings than forward lines. In these divisions all forwards should play as equal as possible, and all defensemen should play as equal as possible, with a minimum of two defense pairings and a maximum of three forward lines. An exception to this would be in the case of a team having less than ten skaters. Novice coaches will follow a 5 in 5 out rotation of players, regardless of position (see rule 20 – Novice Division).
CHL monitoring of line changes and ice time can take place at any time during the season. Failure to adhere to CHL Equal Ice Rules will result in the following:
First Offence will result in a one game suspension to the coach.
Second and subsequent Offenses will result in a two game suspension for the coach and an appearance before the CHL Disciplinary Committee where game forfeiture and season suspension will be considered at the discretion of the committee.
Any offense in playoff play or on championship weekend will result in a minimum of a one game suspension. Additional penalties including game forfeiture, two game suspensions, or a season suspension will be considered at the discretion of the League Commissioner and / or the CHL Disciplinary Committee.
If during a game a player on the game sheet, misses playing time, that ice time is not to be made up at expense of another players’ ice time.
Rule 2: HC / OHF / MHAO
The rules and penalties of Hockey Canada, the Ontario Hockey Federation and the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario will apply except for the changes as adopted by the CHL and as specified in these rules.
Rule 3: Tiering and Balancing
All teams entered in each division by a member association are to be tiered by ability first, regardless of age within the divisions as specified by the Alliance, and then balanced evenly within the tier. All balancing should be completed by the second week of November. In the event of an alleged imbalance, the CHL will notify the offending member association who must respond within seven (7) days. If there is no response or an unsatisfactory response is received, the team may be suspended from league play.
Rule 4: Rosters Team / Affiliated
- All teams must use roster forms provided by the Alliance or as directed by the CHL.
- No team may alter its roster after January 10th.
Rule 5: Colour Conflict
- The home team is responsible for avoiding a colour conflict in the body of the team sweaters.
- Failure to comply will result in the home team rescheduling.
- The associations shall wherever possible avoid having the same colour sweaters in the same division.
- Team colours must be declared by the third week of the regular season.
Rule 6: Game Officials
- The home team will provide the timekeeper, referees and an approved game sheet. The visiting team will provide the scorekeeper, if wanting to do so.
- In situations where the home association provides 2 persons in the time box, the visiting association will have the opportunity to put a scorekeeper in the time box.
- All referees must be at least 2 years older than the division age limit.
- Two approved Alliance officials shall officiate at all league and playoff games. In the event only one referee shows for a league or playoff game, the visiting team will leave the ice surface and the home team will use the ice for a practice. No game shall start with one referee on the ice. Any coach who plays a game, including an exhibition, on this ice will be subject to a one game suspension.
- For Bantam divisions, three approved officials must be scheduled. However, where only two carded officials show up, the game may be played providing the officials present and both coaches agree to proceed.
- For Minor Midget and Midget, 2 approved officials will be scheduled.
Rule 7: Game Sheets
- The game may not start until the game sheet is fully completed and approved by the referee.
- The game sheet must be completed by the Home team and given to the Visiting team no less than 15 minutes prior to game time.
- Game sheet copies are to be distributed to each teams’ coach after each game.
- The top white copy of the game sheet must be deposited in the CHL / FCHL box immediately after the game being played, except when necessary for the game officials to file a game report. It is the responsibility of the Home Team Head Coach to make sure the top copy is put into CHL/FCHL Box.
- The League Commissioner will arrange to have the game sheets picked up on a weekly basis.
- Failure to fill out the game sheet properly could result in serious repercussions in regards to appropriate allotment of player penalties and will definitely result in a $5.00 fine each time after the 3rd occurrence of the same team, to their association.
- All tournament game sheets are to be put in the CHL game box.
- A certified Trainer must be on the game sheet, failure to have a certified Trainer on a game sheet will result in a suspension to both Head Coaches.
- All penalties must appear on game sheet.
- Head Coaches should check to make sure officials sign the game sheet.
Rule 8: Game Results
- The coach of the Home team is to provide the game results to the CHL Statistician via the online Score Submission Form 48 hours after the game, regardless of which team won the game. Only the online form is to be used for score submissions but if you have questions for the CHL Statistician please contact them via the email address: chl_statistician_2006@yahoo.ca. You can find the Submit a Score form at www.glha.ca/community-hockey-league the main CHL webpage. The form can be accessed by going to the CHL tab at the top of the page and selecting Submit CHL Score.
- The coach must assure that all required information, as follows, is included on the online form before submitting otherwise it could result in a delay in the posting of the score:
1. Game Number
2. Home Team Name (as it appears on the online schedule)
3. Home Team Score
4. Visiting Team Name (as it appears on the online schedule)
5. Visiting Team Score
6. Score Reporters Email (which is required in order for the CHL Statistician to follow up with the submitter in a timely fashion if questions arise)
- Failure to report game scores within 48 hours of the scheduled start will result in a $10.00 fine to the home associations. The CHL Statistician tracks late submissions and provides this information to the CHL League Treasurer for fine follow up. Repeat offences may include further fines and / or suspension.
- Incorrect game scores will result in a $5 fine.
- A game will be considered complete when 25 minutes of game time have been completed.
All suspended games under 25 minutes would be reviewed by the CHL Board
Rule 9: Pegging of Nets
Nets will be pegged for all games
Rule 10: Standings
In all league and playoff situations the standings will be determined using this formula.
- If two teams are tied in points:
- The team with the most points earned in games between the two-tied teams gains the highest position (Head to Head record)
- The team with the most total wins against all opponents in the division gains the higher position
- If the two teams are still tied after 1 and 2 have been applied then the team with the best goals against average gains the highest position. The goal average is to be determined by the following method:
i) Divide the total number of goals “for” and “against” into the total goals “for”
ii) The team with the highest percentage takes the highest position
· If the two teams are still tied after 1, 2 and 3 have been applied then a 1 game sudden victory game will be arranged between the two teams. A coin toss will determine which team has home ice advantage.
- If three or more teams are tied:
· The team with the most wins against all opponents in the division would gain the highest position
· If the teams are still tied after part 1 the team with the best goals against average gains the highest position. The goal average is to be determined by the following method:
i) Divide the total number of goals “for” and “against” into the total goals “for”
ii) The team with the highest percentage takes the highest position
· When the team with the highest position has been determined, revert back to the two-team tie breaking procedure (A) 1 to determine the next highest finisher, if required
Rule 11: Protest
- A protest committee appointed by the League Chair or League Commissioner shall hear protests.
- All protests shall be in writing and shall outline the specific complaint (s) supported by evidence and signed by the CHL representative of the protesting association.
- The CHL Representative shall file all protests with the League Chair or the League Commissioner within 48 hours of the time of the complaint or infraction, accompanied by a fee of $50.00. All protests must be in writing (or via email).
- The fee is refundable if the protest is won.
- If the protest is not upheld the entire fee is not refundable.
- Player and bench penalties / suspensions may only be protested / appealed within the guidelines of the HC / OHF and Alliance rules.
- An appeal, if necessary, shall be in writing and filed with the League Chair or Commissioner within 48 hours of the receipt of the protest ruling.
· A hearing shall be at the discretion of the Chair
· The League Commissioner shall notify the protest committee and the persons involved of the time and the place of the meeting
· The appeal committee will consist of the League Commissioner and three executive members selected by the Commissioner
· No executive member will be eligible to serve on a committee involving the association they represent
- All other complaints must be filed in writing with the Associations CHL representative, who in turn will present the letter of complaint to the League Chair or League Commissioner who will follow up on all complaints and report back to the board on their findings.
- Do not email protest to the CHL Commissioner.
Rule 12: Games Changes
It is the desire of the CHL to have every game played where at all possible. To that end forfeits should be considered as a last resort. Cooperation between the two teams and associations to reschedule the games and apply the following rules is expected.
- A minimum of 96 hours (4 days) advance notice is required to reschedule a game
- All game change requests must be made through your division convenor
- Requests must be in writing on the approved CHL game change form
- The division convenor will contact the CHL representative responsible for all game changes within that association to request approval for the change
- Once approval has been granted, the requesting CHL representative will be responsible for:
- contacting the other teams’ CHL representative, referee’s, and the league statistician
- reporting to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis the status of all “T.B.A.” games. The requesting association shall incur all costs related with the game changes
- each team should consult with their home association for policies and procedures regarding such changes and costs
- No games will be rescheduled without first obtaining a mutually agreed upon date, time and location
- If a team fails to show for a game, the team that does show may use the ice for practice only
- The association responsible for a game not played will incur all costs for the rescheduling the game, including paying for the ice, and referee’s for both games regardless of who was the home team
- The division convenor must notify the league Statistician within 24 hours of a game not played. The convenor must then proceed with a game change request per the format specified in this rule
- In no case will a team be allowed to schedule or reschedule a game after a suspension has been assessed in order to lessen the severity of a suspension
Rule 13: Major Penalties and Suspensions
- The most recent OHF Minimum Suspension list will apply, which is located on the Alliance website, Alliance Handbook and also in the CHL Booklet.
- The player will be ejected from the game and the team will be penalized accordingly
- After the second suspension, the player may either receive a letter advising of future suspensions or be asked to appear before a disciplinary committee. The League Commissioner will advise the CHL Board of which action may be taken
- A player receiving a ‘checking from behind’ penalty will be suspended from further play until after he / she attends a hearing convened by the League Commissioner.
- The hearing will be convened within 21 days of the date of the infraction
- The player may only practice with his / her team
- The player may not participate in league, tournament, or exhibition play until after the result of the hearing is known
- The CHL Commissioner may add to any min. suspension
Rule 14: Fighting
- The penalized player will be immediately ejected from the game
- The team will receive a 5 – minute penalty
- The penalized player will also receive a suspension as indicated by the CHL Commissioner
- The second offence will result in the player being immediately suspended from further play until such time that he / she attends a disciplinary hearing convened by the League Commissioner.
- The hearing will be convened within 21 days of the date of the infraction
- The player may only practice with his / her team
- The player may not participate in league, tournament, or exhibition play until after the result of the hearing is known
Rule 15: Suspensions
- The League Commissioner shall administer suspensions for Major, Misconduct, and Match penalties
- Any player, coach, manager, or person in charge of a team receiving a match penalty shall be automatically suspended until further notice
- The suspended party may not practice or associate with the team until the suspension is assessed
- After the suspension has been assessed the suspended party may attend practices but will not participate in any league, tournament, or exhibition games until the full suspension has been served
- All suspensions must be served in league, playoff, or tournament games. Exhibition games do not qualify for games served against the suspension
- Any player, coach, manager, or person in charge of the team receiving a gross misconduct penalty shall be automatically suspended for a minimum of the next three (3) league and / or tournament games
- No member of the Board of Directors shall be eligible to participate in a hearing on a suspension or a hearing involving the association in which he or she represents
- It is the responsibility of the coach to know if he has a player, manager or assistant suspended. If unsure, the coach must contact his convenor before the suspected party participates in any league, tournament or exhibition game
- A first offence will result in the coach being suspended for three (3) games and a forfeit of the game(s)
- A second infraction will result in a one year suspension from the date of the subsequent offence, with the right to appeal and a forfeit of any games
- A game cannot be changed or added to lessen the suspension
Rule 16: Hockey Sticks
All sticks must have a knob on the end of the handle. The knob must be large enough that it cannot get through a facemask.
Rule 17: Game Periods
- Each game in Atom, Peewee and Bantam divisions shall consist of two – ten minute periods and a third period of fifteen minutes
- The Novice division shall consist of two – ten minute periods and a third period of twenty minutes
- All periods are stop time
- Curfews for all games are to be established prior to the start of the game and noted on the game sheet
Rule 18: Penalty Minutes
Any player receiving seven minutes in penalties shall be ejected from the game.
Rule 19: Novice Division
- The timekeeper will sound the horn at two-minute intervals to stop the play
- All coaches must adhere to the CHL equal ice guidelines (see Rule 1: Equal Ice Time)
- Coaches will use the 5 – in – 5 – out rule for changing lines
- All players will exit the player’s bench from the doors closest to the center red line and all players will enter the bench from the doors closest to the blue line
- Double Shifting: No player may play in two consecutive shifts, even on the last shift of the game, or miss more than two consecutive shift except:
- When an injury occurs, any player may be used to complete the shift
- When a team has less than 10 skaters, the players must be rotated equally
- All teams must keep their line change sheets with their copy of the game sheet
- CHL Board members may inspect the line change sheets at any time
- CHL monitoring of line changes and equal ice time can take place at any time during the season
- Penalties: All penalties will expire at the end of each shift
- Teams are to switch ends at the end of each period as per HC rules
Rule 20: Coaches on the Ice (Novice Division only)
One coach per team may assist the players on the ice to line up for face-offs up until January 1st. At no time are the coaches allowed to interfere when the puck is in play.
Rule 21: Schedules and Playoffs
- Schedule will be the responsibility of the CHL Board of Directors and will be published and distributed to member associations as soon as possible
- Playoffs will be held at the end of the regular schedule and arranged annually by the CHL Board of Directors
- The tentative playoff format will be decided at the regularly scheduled January meeting
- The playoff schedule is not subject to change without CHL Board approval
- No game changes are allowed in the playoff with out CHL Board approval
- All coaches should contact their home association CHL representatives prior to playoff meeting and block out questionable dates
- The CHL will procure suitable awards to be presented to the players on the League Championship teams and the City Championship participants
Rule 22: Championship Weekend Rules
Following are the rules that apply to the championship games:
1) All rules from the regular season apply in the championship games.
2) All teams must be prepared to play 15 minutes prior to your scheduled starting time.
3) The teams will line up to shake hands at the beginning of each game.
4) All games will be 13 – 10 – 10 minute periods with no curfew. The clock will start when the referee’s step on the ice, the buzzer will sound at the 11 minute mark for the teams to line up and shake hands, and will not stop until the first stoppage in play. The winners of both the quarter final and semi-final games will advance.
5) All members of both teams will receive awards at the end of the championship game.
6) The winning team in the first division of all age groups will receive a trophy to be engraved and kept for the year.
7) Tie Breaker Rules:
The following rules will apply to break a tie in all non curfewed games:
a) Players till serving a penalty at the end of regulation time will serve the balance of the penalty in the overtime period.
b) There will be a 5 – minute sudden victory period. In the novice division the overtime will be played in one minute intervals, with line changes at each one minute interval as per CHL League Rules.
c) Each team will ice (4) players and a goalie at the start of the overtime period less any penalized players.
d) Players maybe freely rotated between clock stoppages, except for the Novice Division where the 4 in, 4 our rule still applies at the 1 minute intervals. Refer to rule 19.
e) If still tied at the end of the 5 minute overtime period a shoot will take place. Each team will identify three shooters and two alternates prior to the game, the shooters will shoot at the same time and the team with the highest total after three shooters will be declared the winner. If it is still tied, teams will shoot one at a time with the first team to score without the other team scoring will be declared the winner. All skaters must shoot prior to any player taking a second shot. Any player in the penalty box at the start of the shoot out is ineligible for the shootout.
8) Time – outs will not be permitted.
NOTE: Community Hockey League representatives will be on hand during the course of the weekend to monitor games for violations of the rules listed above.
Rule 23: Bench Rule
No one shall be on the bench during a game other than rostered coaches, managers, trainers and players in full uniform. Minimum age for a team official is at least (2) years older than players, to a minimum of 16 years old.
Rule 24: Travel Permits
a) All exhibition games and tournaments must be played under approved travel permits
b) Travel permits must be submitted to, and approved by the GLHA operations committee through your home association’s travel permit convenor
c) Travel permits for Tournaments must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the Tournament
d) Permits for exhibition games must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the game being played.
e) No travel permits will be issued for any team during Championship Weekend or beyond until their team has been eliminated from the playoffs.
Rule 25: Blood Rule
- A referee, player, coach or member of the coaching staff who is bleeding or has blood on their uniform and / or equipment cannot participate until such time that the bleeding is controlled and the uniform and / or equipment is changed or removed
- The trainer will be responsible for treating the injured participant and ensuring that there is no blood in the bench area. If there is blood in the bench area, the trainer may leave at the next stoppage of play to retrieve cleaning materials
- The rule is strict and refers to any amount of blood
- If the referee notices any blood anywhere, he or she will send the player or participant to be treated and have the equipment and / or clothing cleaned and changed
- If the player bleeds on a jersey and an identical replacement is not available, any other color other than the opposing teams color maybe substituted. The changes must be noted on the game sheet
Rule 26: Affiliated Player Rule
- Affiliated players must be listed on an approved A/P form and submitted to the associations’ division convenor and the CHL representative
- A coach may call on an Affiliated player only if the team has less than 10 skaters for any CHL league play
- The affiliated players may only be used to replace rostered players, and only to a maximum of 10 skaters
- A coach may call up a goaltender at any time to serve as a back up in the case of injury to his regular goalie
- The affiliated goalie may only play in the case of an injury to the regular goalie or in a case where the regular goalie is unable to attend the scheduled game
- Affiliated players must be drawn from either across the division or from the division immediately below, within your own association
- To call up an affiliated player, a coach must contact and obtain permission from:
- the division convenor
- the player’s coach
- the player’s parent
- A coach must give permission unless,
- there are conflicting games
- there is than three hours between games
- there are previously scheduled tournaments and or exhibition games
- Players, with the exception of goalies, may only be called up a maximum of 5 times (tournaments and exhibition games excluded)
- A HL player, who is affiliated to a Forest City team, may not be an AP for a HL Team.
- The Affiliated player must be identified as such on the travel permit and or game sheets
- Both the division convenor and the associations’ CHL representative will track the entire affiliated player process
- The Forest City Hockey League has first right to affiliate a player up to and including October 31
- Failure to adhere to this rule will result in the coach of the offending team being suspended for 1 game, and the game where the offence occurred being forfeited. 2nd offence will be a 3 game suspension, possible hearing and game will be forfeited
Rule 27: Handshakes
All players from each team will line up at center ice and shake hands at the beginning of each CHL game.
